Parent’s Toolshop® Leadership Certification
Parents Toolshop® services empower parents to think for themselves by teaching them a unique, reliable problem-solving method that helps them find individualized solutions to their parenting challenges. Only certified Parents Toolshop® Leaders are authorized to use and/or teach the Universal Blueprint® problem-solving method and its 100+ practical tools with and to others, one-on-one or in group settings.
Parents Toolshop® principles and skills are based on sound parenting theories that have been known to parent educators for decades and include the most practical and effective parenting tools every parent needs to know and use. For over 20 years, the Parents Toolshop® model, featuring the Universal Blueprint® Parenting Success Formula, has been proven effective with tens of thousands of parents worldwide through outcome-focused skill assessment results.
Our unique, comprehensive advanced parent educator certification training is for professionals who want to regularly use The Parent’s Toolshop® copyrighted materials to design and deliver family life education programs and services to diverse populations in a variety of settings. (You do not need to be certified to reference The Parent’s Toolshop® book or articles on our website. Simply submit a completed Reprint/Use Request Form.)
Parent’s Toolshop® Leader Certification is important, even if you are already a licensed professional, certified coach, or certified group facilitator in another parent education curricula, because the way we coach and train parents uses and models the Universal Blueprint® Parenting Success Formula. It’s different from any other coach or group facilitation training available anywhere and will complement and enhance your existing skills, giving you a whole new, deeper way to serve parents.
Summary of Parents Toolshop® Leadership Certification
Pre-requisite: Graduate from the Advanced Support Training or live full-length (10+ hour) workshop series.
- Score 9+ on the parent skill assessment.
- Listen to all the “challenge” teleseminar recordings and submit completed handouts. (Included with training.)
- Plan an effective response to 5 parenting challenges using the “Choose Your Own Solution” Hintbook. (Included with training.)
- Participate in 5 hours of Gold/Graduate group coaching calls. (Included with training.)
- Post 10- educational/informative replies in the discussion forum. (Included with training.)
(NOTE: These requirements can be met up to 2 years prior to applying for Leader Certification. If you have not graduated from this training program yet, it is included with your certification fee.)
There are THREE levels of Parents Toolshop® Leaders (PT Leaders).
- Advisors USE the Universal Blueprint® to guide parents through problem-solving goal setting/achievement in 1-on-1 settings. There are three Classification Levels, depending on one’s credentials:
a. Level I Advisor: Certified Coaches (All certified Advisors will qualify for this level.)
b. Level II Advisor: Certified Family Professionals (have a license, certificate or degree) CFLE, LSW, etc.
c. Level III Advisor: Licensed Independent Practitioners (have license, certificate or degree and are legally permitted to have an independent practice.) - Group Facilitators may also TEACH the Universal Blueprint® to parents in group settings, live or on-line. The main Group Facilitator training is for professionals who teach parents from the general public. There are also special certification guidelines for:
a. College Students & Professors
b. Group Facilitator Trainer-of Trainer Certification - On-Line Parenting Experts also MAKE A CAREER of serving parents of a specific target market (such as Divorced Parent’s Toolshop®, Christian Parent’s Toolshop®, Foster Parent’s Toolshop®, etc.) or culture/country/language (such as Romanian Parent’s Toolshop®, Caribbean Parent’s Parent’s Toolshop®, etc.). They offer coaching, workshops (live and on-line), write articles for their target market on their website and PTC’s, and create their own and/or co-branded parenting resources. They have their own business/practice/website and serve as an expert for the Parents Toolshop® web site.
What Your Certification Training Fee Includes:
- Certification is FOR LIFE. You pay a onetime, lifetime certification fee for the top certification level you desire. That fee includes all the training and resources for each level of certification included in that package. For example, Expert certification includes all the previous level(s) and Group Facilitator includes each level listed above it (Advanced Support and Advisor training.)
- You have up to two years to complete all the training requirements for the certification package you choose.
- You can choose which order you complete the training programs. You just can’t provide the services provided by each level until you complete the training. Until then, you agree to refer parents to PTC or other PT Leaders for these services.
Steps to Begin Leader Certification
- Apply for the certification(s) you are interested in and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
- The Standards & Practices Committee approves your application and sends links to detailed information about all Leader Certification programs, including webinars and documents such as FAQs and Standards & Practices Manual.
- Have a one-on-one Strategy Session personal interview with our Leader Coordinator to share your dream career and determine which Leader Certification(s) best meet your needs, interests, and future goals.
- Create a customized training plan, sign the appropriate Leader agreement(s) and and submit payment. You get immediate access to the training materials and begin the certification process.
